Who I Am

Daniel EwaldI’m Daniel Ewald, student of landscape architecture at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. I chose this study of a great number of reasons. It’s a profession that connects the majority of my fields of interest together: Art and aesthetics, biology, geology, psychology, philosophy, law, cultural and social studies.

Landscape architects aim to improve people’s quality of life by emphasising, contribute to or alter their surroundings. Add, substract, shape, tone, implement. It fascinates me how a creative impulse or vision becomes a plan to be realized, how one meets nature and works with it, and how the result of this collaboration can be harmonic and beautiful for ages to come. Furthermore, it’s a highly important profession in our day of increasing awareness on sustainability and green thinking.

I use this blog to keep a journal of my education, as well as spread the word on relevant literature and tools of the trade I come across. I’m always interested in making connections with fellow students and professionals.

Communication is everything!
